07 Jul Mad Science in Year 4!

Year 4 had a fantastic time at the National Grid Science Festival on Monday. They participated in a range of fun and exciting science experiments covering concepts such as forces and electricity.

Pupils did a great job making a roller coaster to demonstrate forces in action and one group from Queensbridge even won the ‘Best roller coaster’ award.

Pupils also had a go at building different circuits, tested different conductors and explored density and sports science.

However, the most fun came from the experiments with the Van de Graaff generator and plasma ball, exploring static electricity and electric current. Pupils were very brave as they lined up to receive their static shocks!

Mr Blakey was very brave too as some Year 4 children dished out some static shocks of their own using the generator!
