A fortnightly newsletter is sent home with your child in their book bags; if you do not receive a newsletter a copy can be collected from the school office but please remind your child to collect one from their classroom.
At the main entrance we have a notice board, in addition we have a notice board in the playground (nursery end and main entrance). We communicate information to parents through these boards. Friends of Queensbridge also have a notice board in the entrance to the Key Stage one Building where minutes, agenda and dates of next meetings can be found. We also have a parents’ room which is located in the playground annex subject to the conditions of the PDC redevelopment
Parents evening dates can be found on the year planner under the section “Term Dates.” These meetings last for 10 minutes but you are entitled to make additional meetings with the class teacher as and when required. Written reports will be issued on an annual basis.
We actively encourage all parents to become involved within our school activities including helping in classrooms, making costumes for shows, becoming a FOQ member, attending FOQ meetings, becoming a parent representative for your child’s class, volunteering to help during swimming, attending class assemblies, helping with clothing, toy, cake sales, joining parents classes or helping on the playground. Research has shown that more parents are engaged with their child’s school the more confident a child becomes therefore achieving and making greater progress within the classroom.
We have a complaints procedure which must be adhered to at all times. The usage of video cameras is not permitted within our school. You may be asked to sign a disclosure for taking photos during a shared event/ assembly/ performance
We welcome suggestions for the future 2007/08 Parent Handbook. Please put your suggestions in writing and address them to Ms Bailey.
We would like to welcome all new parents to Queensbridge Primary School and hope that we participate fully in our thriving school.
