Dear Garden Classroom Team and UBS,
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for the enriching experiences you have provided to all of our year groups through your sessions. Your support has laid a strong foundation of knowledge in sustainability, perfectly complementing our science and sustainability curriculum in Years 1 to 6, as well as ‘Understanding the World’ in EYFS.
The hands-on, practical nature of your sessions has made learning both fun and meaningful for our pupils. Year 5 children, for example, spoke confidently about photosynthesis after their session and are eagerly anticipating "Pollinator Power." It's clear that your approach is sparking genuine curiosity and engagement.
We are especially grateful for the opportunities these sessions offer to build our children’s cultural capital. Many of our pupils have limited access to natural spaces outside school, and your outdoor environment has provided them with valuable new experiences—from interacting with nature to developing confidence in using tools and trying unfamiliar tastes and textures.
Teachers have noticed a growing awareness and respect for nature among the children, demonstrated by their recall of practical guidance like “no pick, no lick and mind that stick,” and a newfound calm around bees after learning how to respond to them safely.
Thank you once again for your inspiring work. We are very much looking forward to continuing this journey and building on the skills and knowledge our children have already gained.
