We have a Queensbridge Friends (former PTA) group which meet regularly to support the school and to offer input into school life, all parents, carers and all school staff are automatically members.

The PTA aims to:
-
Run events where people can get to know each other and enjoy themselves
-
Raise funds for resources that the school needs – such as arts equipment, muscial instruments and playground equipment
-
Raise funds for school trips and in-school events such as theatre and science visits
-
Engage with the local community
-
Strengthen the links between the school and families
-
Volunteer to help the school in all kinds of ways, like tidying the library and garden, helping children with Reading Recovery or counting Active Kids vouchers

We have had many successes over the year and look forward to continuing this partnership!
Please speak to the office if you wish to contact the Queensbridge Primary PTA group or our School Governors. We are always happy to help!

How can I be part of Queensbridge Primary PTA?

Everyone in the school community is automatically a member. It’s open to all parents/carers, whether you have a spare hour once a term to help sell cakes, or a bit more time to help organise an event. Or maybe you know someone who could lend some equipment – like a glitterball for a disco?!
Even if you don’t have much spare time, you can still help by buying a raffle ticket or coming along to an event.

How is Queensbridge Primary PTA organised?

Queensbridge Primary PTA is organised by parents and carers themselves, with help from the school. The group meets two or three times a term to discuss and plan activities. Everyone is welcome to come, and we try to hold the meetings at different times to suit people who are working or have other commitments. Between these meetings, smaller ‘working groups’ of parents/carers get together to organise each activity.

How does the money side of things work?

Queensbridge Primary PTA was formalised and a committee created on 25 March 2015, taking over from what had been formerly Queensbridge Friends. Queensbridge Primary PTA has its own bank account and a formal accounting structure.

Some of the benefits of a formally structured organisation are:

-
Members have a clear understanding of, and commitment, to their position, and parents/carers know who does what.
-
A transparent structure and method of operating – as outlined in a constitution – is clear to parents and adhered to by the committee
-
Financial independence and separate bank account from the school.
-
Significant fundraising possibilities, especially when the PTA achieves charity status

How can I find out what Queensbridge Primary PTA is doing if I can’t get to meetings?

Look out for information on the noticeboard in the playground, in the school newsletter, on the website and on our new App. We will also be holding regular coffee mornings so that people can drop in to find out more. If you would like to join the email list please email: speak to the School office.
